Eat the rainbow 🌈

Today, I want to talk about eating the rainbow. I am sure you hear this all the time or even use it with your kids. While consuming any fruits and veggies is a plus, I wanted to share more today on why each color matters! From benefits to micronutrients, our fruits and veggies play an important role in our overall health!

I have summarized just some of the benefits of each color as well as some of the micronutrients they provide us. Check out the image below to learn more!

Now that you have learned a little more about each color, I want to share a few tips on helping you and your kids eat more of the rainbow daily!

  1. Toss in all the colors into a smoothie! Smoothies are great places to hide fruits and veggies your kids may not like to eat plain. If you are not putting spinach in every smoothie, start today!

  2. Blend extra veggies into spaghetti sauce. Toss in mushrooms, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, you name it, add it!

  3. Make it fun. Cut things up into cute shapes, make fun designs, add a yummy dip. Get creative!

  4. Mix into meals. Adding chopped veggies into stir fry’s, omelettes, and salads are an easy way to load up!
